On Tuesday evening just before training, QFD and mutual aid was alerted to a reported outbuilding fire on Black Bear Road in East Drumore Township. 57 Chiefs arrived with a fire in a construction-type trailer that was extinguished and held the response to Engine 574 for overhaul.
Training tonight consisted of our second night of vehicle rescue in which we were able to use our newly purchased Amkus battery operated hydraulic rescue tools. These tools were purchased through Fire & Rescue Products. These are the first battery operated rescue tools that we have owned, and we look forward to them adding another dimension to our arsenal of tools.
After returning from training, crews responded to QPRC for smoke in a room from a stove-top fire. The volunteers ventilated the area of problem and cleared.
Thanks to everyone who turned out tonight and responded to incidents and trained. It was another great night.
