Just as crews were cleaning up from training, Truck, Rescue and Tanker 57 were alerted to assist the Rawlinsville Volunteer Fire Company on a shed fire in Drumore Township. 58 arrived with a small shed on fire and QFD units were cancelled.
Just minutes after getting back to station, the pre-alert went off for a reported dwelling fire on Orchard Drive in East Drumore Township (QFD first due). Units arrived to find a house that was hit by lighting and a very small fire caused by an electrical wire in the garage, with a smoke condition throughout the house. As soon as it was confirmed that there was no extension, the incident was scaled back to QFD units only.
It was found that lighting struck a tree in the yard and followed a root towards the house. It created a near 1 foot deep ditch where the lighting took out the root for the tree to the house. While there, members investigated another incident across the street.
