Thursday evening, as the severe storms, wind and flooding rain were passing through, QFD was dispatched to the 600 block of Buck Road in East Drumore Township for an investigation of storm damage. On arrival, Chief 57 found an almost total wall collapse of the basement, putting the entire residence at risk. After assessment, the Lancaster County Rescue Task Force 36 was requested to assist in shoring up the house to avoid any further damage.
As usual, QFD members worked seamlessly with RTF members in doing what needed done to assist this family and get their house secured. Lots of wood was cut and put in place to make shores to hold everything until a restoration company can take over.
During the incident, Engine 572 transferred to Chester County Union Fire Company No. 1 ~ Oxford, PA while they worked a house fire.
