At 5 am on Monday as people were getting back to work, the roadways in the Southern End froze up and led to multiple runs for QFD and other local companies. The morning list is as follows:
Incident 1 – Vehicle accident at Kirkwood Pike (Rt. 472) ands Mapleshade Rd. Vehicles left before emergency services arrived.
Incident 2 – On the way back from Incident 1, Engine 572 was alerted to a vehicle accident with rollover with no injuries at Rt. 372 and Groff Rd. in Quarryville Borough.
Incident 3 – While getting ready to clear Incident 3, Engine 572 was again alerted for a Class 1 vehicle accident reported into a house at 715 Kirkwood Pike in Eden Township. Engine 572 and Rescue 57 arrived to find a car that struck a porch with no serious injuries to the occupant.
Incident 4 – After getting back to station, Rescue 57 and Engine 572 were again responding to the 1600 block of Kirkwood Pike (Rt. 472) in Colerain Township for an accident with entrapment. Crews arrived to find a passenger car into a utility pole with the driver trapped. Crews extricated the patient for EMS.
Incident 5 – While working the entrapment, 57 and mutual aid were dispatched to a “house fire” in the 300 block of West 4th Street in Quarryville Borough. Luckily, this call was a false call that was caused by children playing with the phone.
Incident 6 – While returning from the accident on Rt. 472, QFD Fire Police were notified of a truck overturned in the 1400 block of Noble Road in Colerain Township. Rescue 57 arrived with a PPL truck on its side with no injuries.
