At 12:34 pm on Thursday, QFD was alerted to assist the Robert Fulton Fire Company (89) on a house fire in the 1700 block of Cherry Hill Road in Fulton Township. First-in 89 units found a large 2.5 story wood frame house fully involved. On arrival, Truck 57’s crew assisted with containing a rapidly spreading woods fire while the Truck was set up for master stream operations. Tanker 57 supplied a handline and also the Truck with water. The bulk of the fire was knocked down quickly, but the house was a total loss.
Engine 574 set up a tanker fill site and pumped 21,000 gallons of water for the tanker shuttle. QFD Fire Police assisted with directing traffic around the scene.
Thanks to Christiana FC Tanker 52 for standing by while we were out.
Please keep this family in your thoughts as they deal with the loss of all of their possessions.
QFD also responded to a CO alarm at 6:50 am and a reported barn fire (controlled burn) at 5:47 pm.
Thanks to Tom Amico for some of the pictures!!
