At 9 pm Saturday evening, QFD and multiple mutual aid units were dispatched to 306 Haiti Road in Eden Township for a house fire. Originally, the call was entered as Bart Township, so the run card for that assignment was dispatched (thus several extra units).
QFD units arrived with Engine 574 dropping 300′ of supply line and stretching a bumper line to the attic, finding fire coming up through the floor from around the chimney. Tanker 57 set up for water supply and Truck 57 sent crews inside to pull ceilings in the 2nd floor and also sent a crew to the roof. Other units staged and sent the crews in to the manpower pool.
The fire was knocked down quickly with minimal water. Ceilings were opened and some flooring cut away to expose all fire and burned areas. The fire was placed under control, and the companies cleared just after 10 pm.
Thanks to all the mutual aid companis for the assistance, and to Gap Fire Company Engine 42-1 and crew for relocating to our station.
