This Tuesday, we continued our FAST Rescue Solutions training that was interrupted by the fire last week. Crews refreshed on using the board and the rescue system of packaging a downed firefighter. We then used the skills to move a FF up a flight of stairs, down a flight of stairs, lowering from an elevated height (like a 2nd floor window), and then did some skills involving using the board for a “Denver Drill” situation.
These training sessions provided some great discussion with Chief Mike Horst and among our members in ways we can be more proficient, efficient and proactive when responding as a Rapid Intervention Company. It gave us some topics and equipment to concentrate on, and made us think about some of the things we do and use now.
Some of the photos are from this week, and some from last week.
Thanks to all of the members who turned out to learn more about saving our own.
