As a firefighter in a rural area, you never know what you might respond to. Just after midnight, Rescue 57 responded to Saint Catherine Drive in East Drumore Township for an animal rescue. Apparently, a local horse was spooked and jumped a fence where it walked out onto a snow-covered in-ground pool tarp. The tarp then ripped sending the horse into the water. Luckily, the pool was not full, so the horse could stand.
QFD Firefighters, PSP Troopers and local residents cut some tarp straps and were able to lead/pull the horse up and out of the pool. The horse was fine and was put back in the barn.
