On Sunday, QFD responded to 3 separate incidents in the afternoon.
Call #1 was an automatic fire alarm at the Daily Grind in Quarryville. The alarm was false.
Call #2 was for Truck 57 to assist the Willow Street Fire Company with an inside investigation (oven fire) in Providence Township. The Truck arrived and was placed available.
As Truck 57 was returning, they were alerted to an accident on Robert Fulton Highway at Sunset Drive in East Drumore Township. The call was then upgraded to entrapment with a pole down and the vehicle into a house. Units arrived to confirm one person confined and structural damage to a house, along with a pole and wires down. Crews from Rescue 57 and Truck 57 stabilized the vehicle and removed the rear door and “B” post to free the driver. QFD Fire Police (who were out most of the day assisting with a funeral for a Conestoga Firefighter) set up detours and directed traffic around the scene, assisted by Bart Township and Robert Fulton FC Fire Police. Companies were in service just over 1 hour. The roadway was closed and will remain closed until the pole and wires are replaced.
