We have not had much to post recently. It has been a slow few weeks, which shows that people have been taking the advice to stay home and not be out doing a lot of extracurricular activities due to the Covid-19 threat.
With the changing times, one thing that has not changed is the fact that your local fire companies are still there to provide emergency services to our communities. Even though our activities are now somewhat limited due to social-distancing and trying to maintain a continuity of service, we are still taking care of things that are not optional; responding to calls, performing maintenance, station duties, financial activities etc. We are not able to do any upcoming fire safety or do any fund raisers, station tours etc.
One thing that our dedicated Fire Police handled this week was to help Quarryville Borough and QBPD with traffic control while the new traffic light pole was installed on Thursday. This pole was damaged in December of 2018 and was finally replaced. The Fire Police were in service about 8 hours on Thursday helping to detour and direct traffic around the area.
We hope that everyone stays well, stays safe, and once this threat is past, get back to normal.
