Today, a group of members and their families were honored to be part of the Wreaths Across America event at the Quarryville Cemetery. Even with the driving rain and wind, there was a huge turnout of community members (well over 200) to help place a wreath on one of the 477 veterans graves in the cemetery. There are quite a number of QFD members that are buried in the Quarryville Cemetery, and many of them were veterans of the Armed Forces.
Thank you to those that coordinated this great event, and to everyone in the community that donated the money for the wreaths, and took time out of their weekend to honor the veterans by placing a wreath at their grave site and saying their name out loud. Another shining example of the great community that we live in.
