On Thursday evening, Rescue 57 responded to assist Rawlinsville Volunteer Fire Company on a vehicle accident with entrapment in the 600 block of Lancaster Pike (Rt 272) in Providence Township. The call was originally dispatched as Rt. 272 and Truce Rd., but ended up being just North of that intersection.
Units from 58 arrived to find one SUV that struck multiple objects, the guard rail and then rolled onto its side down an embankment off of the roadway. When Rescue 57 arrived, it was positioned to use the winch to assist in stabilization, and the crew used the cutters to assist Rawlinsville’s with roof removal to free the occupant.
QFD Fire Police helped to control traffic at several intersections. The crews were in service about 1.5 hours.
