On this Tuesday nights training, crews traveled to the LCFA Pequea Lane training grounds to do some hoseline work. Members stretched and flowed water in the burn building utilizing the 1 1/2″ and 2″ lines. During these evolution’s, proper hoseline management was enforced, including the nozzle position, back-up position and control position. Proper flaking of the line and making sure it was in line with the entryway was stressed.
Another topic was proper line placement and flow when performing an exterior attack.
To wrap up the evening, we utilized the 2 1/2″ line and showed the correct way to operate this under-utilized line. Everyone had the chance to flow the line and see that when it is done correctly, the 2 1/2″ can be moved like an 1 1/2″.
Thanks to all of the members that attended and made this another night of passing on ideas and skills.
