Tonight was the first night of training in the acquired structure at the intersection of Rt. 222 and Oak Bottom Road in Providence Twp. The training committee set up a “run-in drill” in which the building was smoked up (with a fogger) and the crews were sent from the station. No one knew the layout or what to expect, kind of like a real incident.
The crews arrived with each member following their riding assignment. A line stretched, doors forced, searches completed etc. Two “victims” were located using both vent-enter-search and a traditional interior search. Within 15 minutes, all tasks were complete.
We have had riding assignments since the early 2000’s, and tonight we wanted to reinforce them and let the members gain more confidence in just following the assignments. Everyone did a great job, and this will definitely help us on future fire grounds.
Thanks to everyone that attended, and to the QFD Fire Police for controlling traffic in the area. Great Work Everyone!
