At 3:40 pm Thursday, a report to the station sent the Fire Police to the intersection of Rt. 372 (Buck Road) and Ridge Road for a tractor trailer disabled and blocking the roadway. The trailer struck a utility pole and “bent in the middle” rendering it un-movable. QFD Fire Police began the task of directing late day traffic, being assisted by the Refton Fire Company Fire Police.
Later into the incident, additional manpower was requested and Squad 57 and Engine 572 responded. The personnel were needed to help move used truck tires from the disabled trailer to another one so the broken one could be towed. Members worked together with Null’s Towing and the local trucking company to remove and stack over 350 tires.
The Company was in service for 4 hours and 20 minutes. Thanks to everyone who assisted, and to the QFD Special Division for the food and drinks.
