At our December Board of Directors meeting on Thursday evening, our officers signed for a new 2019 Pierce Enforcer Engine. This engine will replace the current Engine 572, our 1986 Mack CF. After 32 years of running the Mack, it will be sad to see it replaced, but it has served us well and has run quite a few fires.
Once the new engine is received, our current Engine 574, the 1994 E-One Sentry, will be re-designated Engine 572 and will respond to vehicle accidents, rescue calls, stand bys, structure fires (4th out) etc. The new engine will be designated Engine 574 and will be our suppression engine, responding to structure related incidents.
You will see an attached drawing and basic details of what we are ordering. The only change is the front compartment area will be 10″ shorter to keep the overall length down. In keeping with QFD tradition, this engine was built for work. Our Engine Committee has done a great job.
More information will be posted as the order progresses. We expect to take delivery sometime in late summer. The cost of the new engine is $594,000.00, This is only made possible by the hard work of our volunteers and the fantastic support of our community.
