Again Tuesday evening, several members furthered their knowledge by beginning a Pumps II class held at our station (as part of the Southern End Training Group), while the remainder of the Company went to the SECA pond to work on pumping with the new engine. We also used the time to test our nozzles, hose lines and discharges to make sure that our pump pressures are correct. Using a pito gauge and a flow meter, we were able to determine our pressures and flows, and discussed making the switch to smooth bore tips on our 2″ lines. Units also responded to two calls.
Thanks to everyone who continuously turns out to training. Every night, every person, new or long term, learns something.
