After over a year and a half, the QFD members have put the final finishing touches on the basement project. This project began as a water mitigation issue and morphed into a full scale renovation to go along with our station addition. Some of the things we accomplished:
Kitchen update with new counters, cupboards, refrigerator, freezer, chest freezer, ice machine, flooring and the reincarnation of the center islands that have been used for over 40 years.
Bathroom update with new flooring, refurbished stalls, new vanity etc.
Main room renovation with new flooring, “theater” seating, new furniture, counters with stools, large flat screen tv, show case and a hand made (by members) Company table. We also had water mitigation drainage installed, and new paint covers the entire room.
Along with all of the above, we installed new wiring, new lighting, new plumbing, fixed up the storage areas/work shop, made a new gear room and decorated with some company artifacts.
Much of this work was completed by QFD members, and a lot of the items were donated or given to us at a discounted cost. In total, the Company spent less than $10,000.00 to complete this project to make a great spot for the Special Division to prepare food for fire calls and functions, and for members to “hang out” during down time.
