Just after 5 pm, Engine 574, Truck and Tanker 57 were alerted to assist the Robert Fulton Fire Company on a house fire at 1121 Slate Hill Rd. in Drumore Township. Units arrived finding fire in the walls and worked to open up walls and void spaces to find and extinguish the fire. Crews worked for about 1 hour before returning.
After returning and getting the equipment cleaned and back in service, the pre-alert went out for a dwelling fire at 1361 Byerland Church Rd. in Providence Township at 7:26 pm. This sent Rescue 57 on the run to assist the Willow Street Fire Co. Rescue 57 arrived and assisted with throwing ladders, set up the initial RIT and were then re-assigned by command to operate on the second floor. The crews opened up walls and floors finding fire in the void spaces on the second floor while other members opened up the ceilings on the first floor to stop the extension from the area of origin (wood stove). Truck 57 was added to the call also and their crew remained in staging.
Crews worked together with neighboring mutual aid to extinguish the fire and open up all affected areas. The units were available by just after 10 pm. Thanks to Tom Amico for the photos and to all the members who turned out on the sub 10 degree evening.
