The Annual Chicken and Rib BBQ is less than one month away. Again this year, the BBQ will be on Thursday July 11 and Friday July 12th. Thursday will be chicken bbq and Friday will be ribs. As always, Charlie’s Chicken BB’Q will be doing the cooking.
This year will be different, but pretty much the same as Ferguson & Hassler Supermarket passes the torch to GIANT Food Stores. We look forward to the opportunity to continue a 100+ year working relationship.
On a side note, we would like to thank Ferguson and Hassler for starting this annual summer-time tradition well over 20 years ago. This fund raiser was their idea, and has grown tremendously over the years. We started doing about 1,200 chicken halves in two days, to now doing 2,500 halves on Thursday and 1,500 racks of ribs on Friday. The BBQ has made the Fire Company in excess of $100,000.00, probably closer to $150,000.00 over the years. We are very glad that Giant has continued this tradition.
