At the Annual Awards Banquet on Saturday, March 24th, several members received awards for their service and dedication to the Fire Company. Most of our members do not seek out these awards, but we as a Company are honored to present them to the members who work hard, day in and day out, to make this Company what it is.
Years of Service – When members join the Company, we keep track of how many years they have served. This year our 5 year awards went to John Esh, Mike Wagner, Robert Benson, Brianna Difilippo, Jeff Johnson, Jaye Kotchessa and Colin Shaw. 10 year recipients were Carl Diem, Andrew Lavin, Daniel Glick, Jake Bachman and Steven Roop. A 15 year award went to Chad Graybill. 20 years of service awards went to Daniel Herschberger, Hen Woerth and Mike Tome. Scott Kreider received a 25 year award, and Jim Herr received his 30 years of service pin. Derrell Beiler and Len Lavin were honored for serving 35 years. A 40 year award was given to Leroy Welk, and John Groff received a 55 year award.

Service awards were presented to Wayne Brion for his years serving as Chief Engineer, Sherry Wertz for her years as President and to Tim Cox for his years as Deputy Fire Chief.
The William H. Tucker award is presented by the Board of Directors to the junior or probationary member that works hard and exemplifies what it means to be a QFD member. This year the award went to FF Sam Fisher.
The QFD Training Committee Award was presented to Larry Lucarino for his help with our in-house trainings.
After 20 years of active membership, a firefighter is able to receive Life Membership. The Company votes on these names. This year, Life Membership was bestowed on Daniel Heschberger, Mike Tome and Curtis “Hen” Woerth. These members and their families have sacrificed a lot for this Company and we thank them for their continued service.
Firefighter of the year is another award that is voted on by the general membership of the Company. This year Jim Herr was selected as Firefighter of the year.
The QFD Special Division presented Danielle Worrell their member of the year, and Laurie Singles received a service award for her years as president.
Thank You to everyone who made 2017 another great year, and we look forward to continuing this into 2018 and beyond.
